Over the years many many of us have come across small fires within Park Wood.

These have usually been isolated events and with one or two exceptions of little adverse impact. However in the past few days there has been a series of fires - we are aware of seven - most of them being harmless albeit unsightly.

Two fires along the London Road frontage have however resulted in visits from the fire brigade, another had the potential to cause serious damage to one of the wonderful beech trees, and there has also been evidence of lighted paper being thrown into the undergrowth.

The police have been notified of the events. Please email us if you have any information which might prove useful to them and we will forward this on to them.

Work Days

Thank you to all those who came out for the June Work Day, especially the Scouts and their parents who came to help us.

The next Work Day will be Sunday 28th July, which will include a Teddy Bears Picnic (see below).   The work day will begin at 10 am and as usual, light refreshments, gloves and all tools will be provided, but please remember to wear suitable footwear.
