NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED FOR 2009
We are urgently looking for new committee members to help run and organise the Friends next year. The AGM will be held in April and both Pete our chair and Hilda our treasurer will be stepping down from their committee roles after three years in their committee officer roles. We need Friends to come forward and volunteer to help run the group.
Without the committee the Friends of Park Wood would not be able to go on. The committee organises the work days, looks after the tools and promotes the values of Park Wood to local residents. Most years the committee meets 4 - 6 times to plan work days and any events that the Friends are holding. Without a committee we would have to fold up the Friends Group and stop our work days, which at the moment is the main care that the wood gets. To find out more about the committee what it involves please contact 023 9226 6418.

Work Days

October Work Day

After a long Summer during which all activity in Park Wood was suspended (apart from the regular litter picking and bin emptying) we have at last been able to hold a Work Day in Park Wood.  Thank you to all those who turned up to help on Sunday 25th, despite the unsettled weather.  With a few extra rules to enable safe working and complying with the Woodland Trust's advice about social distancing, we were all glad to have the opportunity to meet up again and see what jobs could be done.

Hopefully we will be back again at the end of November to continue coppicing and begin clearing the ditches.
